The Nottingham design uses side stabilizer bars and tiny ball bearing chases to maintain azimuth. Nottingham have also developed a proprietory damping material, the viscosity of which is such that it does not flow and does not require 'settling time'. This material is applied to the centre pivot and the stabilizer bars. Nottingham uses carbon fibre tubes with the fibres oriented the length of the tonearm not wrapped around it. This greatly increases the strength, resonance control and rigidity of the arm. The headshell is also unusual in that the orientation is in direct line with the tonearm and not offset in any way. The headshell also has no finger lift. These two features insure that the arm is properly balanced from side to side and that no uncontrolled resonances are running around the headshell.
The Ace Space tonearm is a beautifully hand crafted design. It features an ultra light weight carbon fibre arm tube and uses a damped unipivot bearing. This damping means this arm is as easy to handle as a fixed pivot tonearm, suffering none of the instability you otherwise tend to get when cueing. It produces a delightfully natural sound with exceptional speed and good dynamics.

Our team have worked tirelessly to improve every aspect of this new tonearm. Offering improved ergonomics, usability and sonic performance.

Featuring a new bias assembly, re-designed stiffer vertical bearing housing, integrated
arm clip and an improved spring housing with easier to read numbers. Other improvements include a Rega made, low capacitance phono cable terminated with high quality 'Neutrik' plugs, improved lower friction, precision horizontal and vertical bearings and a re-designed 100g mild steel balance weight.

SME engineers, recognising the potential of the latest complementary equipment, accepted the challenge to design and build a pick-up arm which unlike others in existence would make no detectable sound contribution of its own. The work took almost four years and the measure of its success is the acceptance of the Series V precision pick-up arm by technical experts and users as one of the world's truly great audio products.Series V sound has an almost startling dynamic range and neutrality enabling high levels to be enjoyed. It escapes the 'LP' sound and demonstrates that structural resonances in pick-up arms are responsible for much that makes vinyl records readily discernible from master tapes.

The functioning of a pick-up arm appears simple but is in fact very complex. All cartridges employ relative motion between armature and stator portions of a generating system to produce the signal output. Reproduction can only be true therefore when all movement representing groove modulation is made by the armature to which the stylus cantilever is attached and none by the stator represented by the cartridge body. Unless the pick-up arm holds the latter against even the minutest movement at audio frequencies the signal will be modified in some way. The result is a subtle loss of clarity, dynamic range and transient attack that can make the sound from even the best system tiring to listen to.

Oracle SME V Tonearms all come in silver finish with Oracle branding and MCS-150 (Mono Crysal Silver) internal wiring. The tonearm cable provided is a Van Den Hul M.C. D-501 Silver Hybrid Hallogen free cable.

The Michell TecnoArm II has brought some improvements to this popular tonearm. Now using the latest 3-point mount, the TecnoArm II is based on the Rega RB202 tonearm and uses a new arm tube which is more rigid than its predecessor. The taper on the arm tube has a new profile to improve sound reproduction and there are larger webs to stiffen the bearing to arm tube interface. The headshell has been re-designed as well. A proprietary stress relieving process is applied to the arm tube to toughen the bearing housing and headshell areas. The arm tube mass is lowered at the headshell end, with 22 holes precision drilled on the underside. This increases trackability and reduces unwanted resonances. The underside of the headshell is aligned to the main bearings and precision milled in a jig, ensuring zero azimuth for the cartridge. The arm is internally foam-damped and rewired with one continuous length of Michell's proprietary 99.999% pure silver Litz wire between Michell's own silver-plated machined cartridge clips and Michell's own silver-plated billet brass RCA plugs. The underslung TecnoWeight counterweight is supplied with two weights: the lighter one for cartridges between 3 and 6 grams, the heavy one for cartridges between 6 and 13 grams. An optional extra heavy weight is available for cartridges weighing up to 16 grams. The TecnoWeight has a precision vernier adjustment for setting tracking weight in 1/10th gram increments without need for a stylus scale. Michell's hasn't forgot about VTA adjustment. Their ingenious 3-point VTA adjuster is included allowing for arm height adjustment without arm removal. The arm is supplied with 3 shorter arm board standoffs and 3 shorter de-coupling standoffs giving a wider range of adjustment on all vintages of Michell Gyro or Orbe turntables. Mounting template, mounting screws, alignment protractor and instructions are included.

The new MKII version of the Dynavector DV 507 tonearm has made its long-awaited debut, building on the strengths of the original DV 507 which has enjoyed the highest reputation among audiophiles world-wide since its appearance in 1984.

As it is a bi-axis inertia controlled tonearm the DV 507, no matter the type of cartridge can trace the music signal grooves cut in the recording with extreme accuracy. The DV 507 also provides superb trackability on warped recordings. Resolution and musical detailing are quite remarkable.

The Oracle Paris tonearm is a Pro-Ject 9cc tonearm that has had its performance greatly enhanced by the addition of a vibration and resonance control system. This collaboration with Pro-ject comes from the long time friendship of Jacques Riendeau and Heinz Lichtenegger who was Oracle's distributor in Austria for many years. Development of the Delphi MK VI micro vibration stabilisation system led to significant improvements in sound. Applying that very same design philosophy led to the develeopment of the Paris tonearm micro vibration damping system. A small "paddle" attached to the belly of the tonearm that dips into a narrow arc-shaped trough of silicone fluid was added to the 9cc tonearm. This damping mechanism effectively reduced the unwanted resonances and vibrations in the tonearm.

The RB2000 tonearm is packed with new features pushing the boundaries of tonearm design. As with all Rega tonearms, each one is meticulously hand built by a team of highly skilled technicians. The RB2000 uses improved bearings with each one being hand selected to be an interference fit with the paired spindle matching both the inside and outside diameters. This is a Rega developed method of increasing the amount of detail retrieved from the record surface, designed specifically to maximise performance of the tonearm and cartridge.

As the world’s leading authority and pioneer of the use of carbon fibre technology in audio structures Wilson Benesch is delighted to announce, the latest results of its on going research and development.

There are three key factors in the design of the tube of any tonearm:~

1. The form of the tube: Based on natures’ rules Hyperbolic form

2. The stiffness of the tube: Strength facts, compare Magnesium 275 MPa to Nano carbon 62,300 MPa

3. The damping capabilities of the tube: Anisotropic materials like carbon fibre direct energy and exhibit high levels of damping perpendicular to the fibre. Carbon fibre is vastly superior to metal structures that propagate energy in all directions very efficiently.
